James Silk Buckingham letters, 1824-1848.

The collection consists of five letters: to Dear sir, 5 Aug. 1824, about a memorial and a Dr. Holliday; to Dear madam, 14 Nov. 1829, about his travel plans; to My dear sir [J. Blackwell], 8 Sept. 1831, about his defense against an accusation in the Times; to Dear sir [Mr. Whittaker] 5 Jan. 1842, about a lecture he is giving on Afghanistan; to Sir, 10 July 1848, soliciting a subscription for his work on Italy.
